Encounters@Shalom is the education department of The Shalom Institute. Encounters offers a variety of quality educational and cultural programs for adults of all ages from across the entire community. Our courses and events reflect the dynamism and diversity of our heritage and community.

js_network logo   Who exactly are we? A big word in the Jewish community and a household name for young adults between the ages of 20-39 living in Sydney (and around the world – but we don’t like to boast). We’re a young adult division of The Shalom Institute – a constituent organisation of the JCA. But what do we actually do? Good question. We’re so glad you asked. Network is just that – a Networking organisation that offers a way for Jewish young adults to stay active and connected in our community. From social to cultural, education to spiritual, no matter what your taste, we’ve got you covered. We have a fresh and interactive website, opportunities for volunteering,  a Professional Women’s Forum, a revamped dating website and even an incredibly successful mother’s group. As we’re a pluralistic and apolitical organisation, whatever life-stage you’re at or however you like to express you’re Jewish identity, Network’s got something for you. We do ‘Jew’ – and we do it well.
